7-12-10 to 7-29-10 27% GP Edge Repairs 2 (Really bad ju-ju!)
I fixed this plane just before going out to fly again, and the same thing happen yet again....
42% Products optokill device killed the engine at the wrong time!
(needless to say I smashed the unit with a hammer! not to be used ever again!)
As if I didn't learn my lesson last time..... guess I figured I'd give it the benifit of doubt.... bad call!
Result of this crash: Hard nose hit! Detroyed plane back to just behind the front of the wing saddle! Total nose rebuild!!!!
Also had left side wing damage I had to repair too.....
(I had to make drawings of what I thought was correct and correct the cut out pieces as I went....)
This was also the point where I left the RCGF 50cc on the bench, since it cracked one of the mounting tabs
on the engine block, and I had to wait about a week for the new rear crankcase cover to get here......
In the Mean time, I put the RCGF 62cc on the nose of the 79" Great Planes 27% Edge 540....
Oh man--- as if the RCGF 50cc wasn't ballistic enough... the RCGF 62cc was phenominaly amazing!!!!!.
I had to move the ignition 4-cell AA pack off the motorbox and put on top of the fuel tank to
compenate the ballance point with the 62cc....... the 62cc is about 10 ounces heavier than the 50cc.....
The plane flew great with the 62cc, but as of about 10-1-10, the 62cc is on the new Yak54 and the
50cc is back on the edge 540 now......
