9-2-13 MKS 767 HV servo -- pressed fit gear fail! (second gear in geartrain)
I have four (4) of these MKS-767HV servos in my 85" Yak 54, and I've noticed that one of the surfaces
kept developing more and more slop in what I though was the gear teeth..... to my surprise, I take
the servo apart to check out the gears, and all the teeth themselves on all the gears are
beautiful.... so I keep looking and discover that the second gear in the geartrain along with
the 3rd gear is pressed fit in the center.... the 3rd gear is ok, but the second gear is slipping
in the center press fit section.... wow.... don't know what to think about this.....
Other than this issue with the second gear in the one servo so far, these truly are amazing servos!
I did find someone else's video on youtube regarding this same issue... (following pics at bottom)

Here's a video I found on youtube when searching google for 767 servo issues:
It looks like these servos are discontinued, as I just looked
today (9-2-13) ... Hmmm... wonder if this issue has
came up a lot in the past? ==============================>
9-13-13 UPDATE:
The new gearset has arrived from A Main Hobbies...
$29.99 for the gears + shipping..... to fix a $108.00 servo.... hmmm
I was checking out the bad #2 gear from the original set before installing new gears,
and while doing so, I pulled on the center pin just lightly, and it pulled right out of the
outter gear portion.... not too impressed with that.....
We'll see how long this new gear set lasts in this servo, along with the 4 other servos
that I have here also..... I'm sure I'll do more elaborating on the subject if it occurs
again.....
