9-20-11 --- 77" Goldberg Extra 330 - Number 2
This began back on August 21, as I aquired a freebie airframe from a fellow pilot friend from another airplane club.....
He was tired of this airframe, as he feels this particular model flies too "heavy"... I like my Extra #1, so I decided to
take on this task of doing some minor repairs as it is a little banged up from some hard landings, and assembling this aircraft......
(I still have to come up with all the servos, receiver, engine, etc...... as this is an empty airframe.... parts will come
from the Old Orange Spad that I have flown the snot out of and have recently retired, as the coroplast is getting brittle.....)
(the next four pictures are how the second shelf of the trailer looked, bringing the Extra No.2 home...)

9-20-11 Work Begins on the Extra 330 No.2
This 77" Extra 330 No.2 will get a CRRC Pro gf45i 45cc engine.... (Extra No.1 has a Brillelli 46gt, or Poulan 46cc Chainsaw conversion)
I had to clean all the black trimming material off of the edges of the old canopy, which required taking it off the hatch, and cleaning,
and then glueing it on with Pacer Formula 560 canopy glue.....
I then removed old firewall, made a new one and installed it.... I also hung the CRRC Pro 45cc engine.... and put in the throttle servo / linkage....

9-22-11 All electronics installed except for aileron servos.... did a test fire of the old CRRC Pro gf45i 45cc engine....that I
took off the orange 82" spad..... runs like a champ! Didn't have to touch a thing! Couple more hours, and one more futaba fasst
reciever, and it will be ready to fly!

10-22-11 Goldberg 77" Extra 330 #2 took flight with no troubles!!! -
(Maiden @ Eagle Squadron RC during the Annual "Spookfest" chili fly-in)
(flies better than #1, of course I built it lighter, after having 4 more years of experience under my belt... )
The CRRC Pro GF45i (redhead) 45cc engine and 20x8 prop flies this plane awesomely and has plenty of
hoverability and decent pullout.....
One of the guys at the Galion, OH R/C club (Andy Williams) had a friend fly in to the local airport with his Cessna 150, and then
he borrowed my wife's Nikon D50 camera and took it up in the full scale plane during our fly-in.... I was so fortunate
to have one of the flights with my Extra #2 being caught on the Nikon cam while Andy Williams was shooting pictures
from above!!! How cool was that..... !!!

Here's where I have to pick on my wife, since she dislikes this color scheme on the
goldberg extra 330, and now I have two....She shoots pics pretty consistantly in terms
of "captures"... lol
The new Extra 330 is on the left (taken at Galion,OH....., and the old extra #1 (which I still have) is on the right in the pics below.....(pics from Joe Nall 2011)
